As it ramped up its business in the U.S., Purplebricks USA was eager to tell a specific story. As a fixed-fee brokerage, it naturally fought the narrative imposed on it by competitors of “you get what you pay for.” As in: low fees lead to sub-par service. With high-quality production value in videos such as this one, in addition to the human-interest storytelling shown via this real customer and her agent, we were able to illustrate the point that Purplebricks was, in fact, a full-service brokerage offering a high-quality end-to-end experience for a fraction of the cost.

As a newcomer to the real estate market in the U.S., Purplebricks USA needed to help its customers get to know it as a brand. I was tasked with creating a video to tell the story of the company through the eyes of its founders, brothers Michael and Kenny Bruce. The goal was to help viewers understand the “why” behind the creation of the business, which comes through in the narrative of Michael and Kenny, their personal history, and the values they seek to imbue throughout their company and its people — resulting in a better experience for customers.

 

Montage Residences Kapalua Bay

"The Oldest Pier"

It was 2015. The luxury hospitality and residential brand Montage had just opened the doors to its new Hawaii property, Montage Residences Kapalua Bay. They were looking for a way to communicate the essence of life at this new resort destination. In conversation with one of their executives, the phrase was uttered, "If you want to find the best spot on the lake, look for the oldest pier." And that was it. That was our story. You'll see why when you view the film.

 

Cavu Las Vegas

"Meet Cavu"

The geniuses behind Mandalay Bay and the MGM Macau approached our firm to create a marketing package for their Las Vegas residence. We felt the only way to present a home designed like a resort was to create a fictional TV tour of the property — complete with a cheeky pun or two and a heavy dose of British humor.

 

Park Lane Ala Moana

"Rediscover Home"

Life moves fast. You may think the best parts of it are already in the rear view mirror. But it's possible to reinvent yourself at any moment, to get back to what matters — if you really want to. That's the message of this film created for Park Lane Ala Moana, a luxury residential development located in the heart of Honolulu. I loved seeing the memory flashbacks come to life in this film featuring one of our favorite L.A. actresses, Jeannie Bolet.

 

Hurlingham Drive

"A Full Life"

This film explores the question, "What does it mean to live a full life?" Using narrative voice over, it juxtaposes several non-material characteristics of a life well-lived with specific imagery tailored to the residence. The entire story is encapsulated in a birthday-party flashback in which one woman remembers the things that have held the most meaning for her in the distant and not-so-distant past.
